The new Kharkhoda site will become a major production centre by the end of the decade.

Maruti Suzuki India has announced the establishment of a third manufacturing facility at its Kharkhoda site in Haryana, with an investment of ₹7,410 crore. The plant, which is expected to be operational by 2029, will add 2.5 lakh units per year to the company’s production capacity. With these expansions, Maruti Suzuki aims to reclaim a 50% market share in the domestic automotive sector. Additionally, the new Kharkhoda site will become a major production centre by the end of the decade.

This expansion is part of Maruti Suzuki’s long-term strategy to meet growing demand and solidify its leadership in the Indian automobile market. The investment will be funded through internal resources, reflecting the company’s financial strength and commitment to self-sustained growth.

Kharkhoda, located in Sonipat district, is a recent addition to Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing network. The first plant at this site began operations in February 2025, rolling out the Brezza as its initial model. A second plant with a similar capacity is already under construction.

With the third unit, Kharkhoda’s total annual production capacity will rise to 7.5 lakh vehicles, making it a significant manufacturing hub for Maruti Suzuki. The company has secured 900 acres within IMT Kharkhoda to develop this facility, leveraging proximity to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway for logistical efficiency.

The latest investment aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s broader goal of expanding production capacity to 4 million vehicles per year by 2030-31. The company has committed over ₹50,000 crore towards this objective, with ₹45,000 crore earmarked specifically for capacity expansion.
