The Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno emerged as Maruti Suzuki's top five production models, each contributing over two lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki has achieved a new record with the production of 23.4 lakh vehicles in FY2025-26. The auto giant has become the only OEM to achieve this landmark production figure. Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki is also the only Suzuki Motor Corporation subsidiary globally to have this record under its belt. The announcement highlights the Indian market’s position in Suzuki’s global strategy.
Maruti’s production units ran at capacity backed by popular models. The Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno emerged as the top five production models. The Dzire was also the bestselling car of FY2026. Each model crossed a production of two lakh units per annum, the automaker revealed. Maruti produces 17 models and over 650 variants for domestic and export markets.

Speaking about the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “This is a proud moment for us, as very few companies across the world have been able to manufacture such large volumes in a single country. At Maruti Suzuki, we have always believed in offering products and technologies that complement the evolving needs and aspirations of our customers, earning their trust, generation after generation. This achievement is the outcome of a carefully nurtured automobile ecosystem built over four and a half decades. At its foundation lies the mutual trust and long-standing collaboration that we share with our employees, vendor and dealer partners. This ecosystem supported by the current government’s policy environment, like the rollout of GST 2.0, strengthened market confidence and stimulated demand at a critical time allowing us to manufacture record-high units.”
He added, “Our parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation’s strong belief in India’s growth story, along with an increased focus on developing India as an export hub, is enabling us to further expand our production capacity. We aim to scale it to about 40 lakh units per annum.”
Maruti Suzuki operates out of four manufacturing plant in India at present, located in Gurugram, Manesar and
Kharkhoda in Haryana, and Hansalpur in Gujarat. The facilities have a combined installed annual capacity of 24 lakh units. Maruti is expanding its production capacity further, and is planning to setup its fifth plant in Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat. The upcoming plant will have an annual production capacity of 10 lakh units, once fully operational.
