Prices for some models will remain unchanged for bookings made up to 14 June 2026, even as the automaker proceeds with a previously announced price hike of up to ₹30,000 across its range from this month.
Maruti Suzuki India has introduced a price protection scheme for its entry-level car portfolio, covering models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Maruti Suzuki WagonR. The country's biggest carmaker said that prices for these models will remain unchanged for bookings made up to 14 June 2026, even as it proceeds with a previously announced price increase of up to ₹30,000 across its range from this month.
The initiative is aimed at preserving affordability for buyers, particularly at a time when vehicle prices are under pressure from rising input costs and an unfavourable cost environment. The company indicated that the scheme is expected to support first-time buyers and contribute to wider motorisation.

Explaining the move, Partho Banerjee was quoted as saying by PTI: "On the feedback of our channel partners, we have announced a price protection scheme for entry customers. Their (channel partners) plea was simple: the customer who is stepping forward with courage to buy a car should not be pushed back by a price hike. So, we are considering a price protection window for small car buyers. If you book, we give you a cushion,"
In May, Maruti Suzuki had said it would raise prices across its model range from June 2026, citing inflationary pressures, with the extent of the increase varying by model.
Also, the company has launched a recurring deposit-backed auto loan programme, branded "Suhana Safar," designed to address affordability constraints among customers who may find it difficult to manage monthly instalments or upfront payments. The offering is currently available for the same set of entry-level models.
Under the scheme, customers can deposit monthly instalments equivalent to a vehicle EMI into a recurring deposit account. After a tenure of three to six months, the accumulated amount can be used as a down payment for a car loan from the same bank.
Maruti Suzuki said the programme has generated strong interest, with around 8,000 enquiries and over 1,700 bookings recorded so far.
