The Maruti Suzuki Swift has another feather in its cap as it has now achieved the three million sales milestone. This milestone has been achieved in 19 years since the first-generation Swift was launched in India.
The first-generation Swift was launched in 2005, but the hatchback only crossed the 1 million sales mark after the second generation was launched in 2011. The 1 million milestone was achieved in 2013, while the 2 million sales milestone was achieved in 2018, months after the third-generation model debuted in India in 2018 itself.

And now, just weeks after Maruti Suzuki launched the fourth generation of the Swift in India, the hatchback has breached the 3 million sales milestone in India. It took Maruti Suzuki eight years to achieve the first million, another five years for the second million and then another six years for the third million.
Globally, Suzuki has sold more than 6.5 million units of the Swift. This means, India accounts for nearly half of the global sales for the Swift, making it one of the most important regions for the hatchback.
