The seven-seater Eeco has been replaced by a six-seater version.
Maruti Suzuki is making six airbags standard in all its cars, and the WagonR and Eeco are the latest cars to receive the update. Along with this, the Indian auto giant has also made the engines E20 complaint in both the cars and gave both of them three-point seatbelts as standard too.
Additionally, the Eeco now comes with a new seating configuration. Maruti Suzuki has replaced the seven-seater version of the Eeco with a six-seater version, replacing the bench seat in the second row with two captain’s chairs.
Making the cars E20 complaint has changed their fuel efficiency. The Wagon R still delivers up to 25.19 kmpl with the petrol powertrains and 33.47 km/kg with the CNG powertrains. The Eeco’s petrol engine returns a fuel efficiency of up to 19.17 kmpl, while the CNG powertrain has a fuel efficiency of 26.78 km/kg.
Recently, Maruti Suzuki made six airbags as standard in the Alto K10, Celerio, Grand Vitara and Brezza. The new Dzire and Swift already came with six airbags as standard as they were launched in 2024 only. Expect other models to follow suit soon.
