The journey will cover 25 states of India and promote electric mobility.
A few days after confirming it would commence deliveries from Ahmedabad, Matter Group has followed it up by launching an ambitious cross-country journey across India. Dubbed the 'Aerathon Bharat,' the 25,000-km journey kicked off on October 4 from the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
The trek will span 25 states, tackling diverse terrains from coastal roads to mountain passes. Beyond demonstrating the Matter Aera 5000’s performance, the journey will also aim to raise awareness about sustainable mobility and climate challenges facing the nation.
The company further emphasised that the mission will go beyond a typical endurance run. It will incorporate stops at cultural landmarks and engage with local communities to promote eco-friendly transportation solutions. This is not the first time that an electric two-wheeler company has embarked on such an ambitious cross-country tour. Ampere had earlier done a similar Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K) trek with the pre-production Nexus. You can read more about it here.
Matter’s Aera 5000 is touted as India's first geared electric motorcycle. The bike is positioned as a versatile performer that is quite capable of daily commuting. To know how it rides, check out our review below:
