Matter Aera 5000

Matter has more than 300 patent applications and 58 granted patents.

Matter, the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has been awarded the 10th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Industrial Intellectual Property (IP) Award 2024 at the CII Annual Summit. Matter has more than 300 patent applications and 58 granted patents and this was honoured with the aforementioned award. 

The 58 granted patents include powertrain cooling, gearbox technologies, charging infrastructure and manufacturing automation.

Matter currently only produces one motorcycle, the Aera and it’s offered in two variants – Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+. The former is priced at ₹1.74 lakh, while the latter is priced at ₹1.83 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the world’s first electric motorcycle to get a geartrain system.
