Going ahead, the carmaker seems to be simplifying its portfolio, with the new CLA expected to serve as the brand’s entry-level offering.
Mercedes-Benz has quietly discontinued selected models from its India lineup. Models like A-Class Limousine, EQA, EQB, and the EQE SUV have been listed from the company’s official India website. This comes at a time when the German luxury carmaker is gearing up to launch the all-new CLA in India on 24 April 2026.
Acko Drive reached out to Mercedes-Benz for confirmation, and the company stated, “We have completely sold out the existing stock of these models in India. Customers looking for the latest generation BEV, can explore the new CLA, which is the most ‘intelligent Mercedes-Benz ever’ and has created a new benchmark in the luxury BEVs, debuting on 24 April.”

With the discontinuation of A-Class Limousine, the GLA has become the most affordable model in Mercedes-Benz’s Indian lineup. The former was priced between ₹44.46 lakh and ₹45.92 lakh before being discontinued, while the GLA is priced at ₹51.80 lakh to ₹55 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Therefore, the entry to the Mercedes-Benz lineup has become more expensive by ₹6-10 lakh.
On the electric front, the lineup previously began with the EQA, priced from ₹67.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Going forward, the carmaker appears to be streamlining its portfolio, with the new CLA expected to serve as the entry point. Its starting price is likely to be around ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom).

The A-Class Limousine was introduced in India in March 2021 and received a facelift in 2023, remaining on sale for around five years. The EQB, the brand’s first three-row EV, debuted in 2022 and was updated in 2024. It stayed in the market for over three years, with its last recorded price ranging between ₹70.9 lakh and ₹77.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

The EQE SUV arrived in September 2023 as the electric counterpart to the GLE, priced at ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom), and was available for roughly two and a half years. Meanwhile, the EQA — positioned as the electric equivalent of the GLA and Mercedes-Benz’s most affordable EV — had a relatively short run of under two years in the Indian market.
