The E-Class LWB will come to India by the end of 2024 and the AMGs will launch by June.
At its latest quarterly sales announcement meeting, Mercedes-Benz India mentioned all the cars, SUVs and electric vehicles that will be launched later this year. The German marque has nine new models in the pipeline for India that include sedans, coupes, SUVs, coupe SUVs, EVs, a couple of AMG models and a Maybach.
Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the new E-Class will be coming to India by the end of 2024. India will get the long-wheelbase version of the latest E-Class which made its debut in October last year and is already on sale in China as the E-Class L. The E-Class LWB is 18 mm longer and 20 mm wider with a wheelbase 15 mm longer than the outgoing model. The powertrain options of the new E-Class should be revealed closer to its launch date. Mercedes-Benz India still has a few units of the outgoing E-Class in its stock which it needs to sell before the new version comes to India.
Another addition to the C-Class line-up is also the second C-Class AMG model in India after the AMG C 43 4Matic. The C 63 S E Performance will get the limited F1 Edition that gets bits from Mercedes-AMG’s F1 team. At the heart is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine with hybrid assist and has a combined output of 671 bhp and 1,020 Nm of torque. Of the 671 bhp, the engine produces 469 bhp, while the electric motors produce 201 bhp. The 6.1 kWh battery helps it give an all-electric range of up to 13 km. The F1 Edition gets a special grey paint scheme with red accents on the bumpers and side skirts. The interior of the F1 edition also has a black and red colour scheme.
The other AMG model to come to India is the S 63 E Performance. The S-Class AMG is returning to India after a while, although the previous one only came to India as a coupe. The S 63 E Performance packs a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine with hybrid assist and a combined output of 791 bhp and 1,430 Nm torque. Its 13.1 kWh battery helps it give an all-electric range of up to 33 km.
While Mercedes-Benz India hasn’t given a specific date for the launch, it did mention that two AMG models will be launched before June 2024.
Mercedes-Benz also mentioned that it will be launching three more electric vehicles in India. While it didn’t specify which EVs will be coming to India, expect the EQS SUV (both standard and Maybach versions) to come along with the EQE sedan and the EQA. Mercedes-Benz mentioned that these three EVs will be coming to India in the second half of 2024.
As of now, Mercedes-Benz hasn’t mentioned which are the remaining three models it has in the pipeline for India, but expect them to include the CLE coupe, the facelifted GLB as well as the GLC Coupe. The latter will most likely come to as an AMG-only model. There is no specified timeline for the launch of these three models, but they’ll be launched by the end of this year.
