This year could be the best year for Mercedes-Benz in India in terms of sales.

Mercedes-Benz India sold 9,262 vehicles in the first half of 2024. This marked a year-on-year sales growth of 9 per cent for the company (8,528 units sold in H1 23). Mercedes continues to top the charts when it comes to luxury car sales in the country. BMW India is a close second having sold 7,089 vehicles in the first half while Audi is a long way back in third place with just 1,431 unit sales. The company continues to rule the roost in the country, while the rest are caught playing catch up.

Mercedes-Benz India’s BEV portfolio grew by 60 per cent in H1 2024, however, the sales are still just 5 per cent of the overall number. The company’s top-end vehicles too witnessed a spike with the sales of Maybach cars growing by 108 per cent.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “New and updated products, elevated customer experience at retail and ease of ownership, combined with positive customer sentiments; boosted our best-ever H1 sales performance.”

Mercedes-Benz India had reported overall sales of 17,408 units in 2023 and in the first half of 2024, the sales figures are looking promising. This year could be the best year for Mercedes-Benz in India in terms of sales and what re-affirms this is the incoming of the company’s best-seller, the new-gen E-Class.
