The E-Class long wheel base was the highest selling model during this period
Mercedes-Benz India today announced that it has delivered 12,768 cars in the 9 months of 2023. This marks a growth of 11 per cent compared to the same period last year. However, the company did say that the numbers could have been better but for the supply constraints that it faced in the third quarter of this year. The supply challenges have pushed delivery timelines as well especially for the in-demand SUVs like the GLA, GLC and the GLS.
The demand for high-end Mercedes-Benz, AMG and EQS models belonging to the high-end segment continued to remain strong, contributing approximately 25 per cent of Mercedes-Benz’s sales volume. The E-Class long wheel base was the highest selling model during this period and cars like the A-Class and the C-Class showed strong demand.
Audi has already announced its sales during the 9 months of 5530 units and that’s close to half of what Mercedes-Benz India has achieved. BMW India is yet to announce its numbers but it looks like that Mercedes-Benz India is firmly in the driver’s seat as far as the luxury segment is concerned.
