Mercedes-Benz has started showcasing the Project Maybach concept at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. This is the brand’s fourth concept vehicle it has showcased at NMACC since October 2023.

The Project Maybach was first showcased in late 2021 and has been designed in collaboration with late fashion designer Virgil Abloh. It is an all-electric 2-seater off-roader with boxy proportions, a long bonnet and chunky off-road-specific tyres. It also has an exoskeleton but only over the cabin and also houses four auxiliary lights. There are four more auxiliary lights that are mounted on the bullbar at the front. The headlights and taillights are two circular units with circular LED DRLs. The Project Maybach is finished in a Black and Beige exterior finish.

Inside, the Project Maybach gets a futuristic-looking two-spoke steering wheel with four control knobs. It also gets a large touchscreen for the infotainment system that can retract into the dashboard. The Project Maybach’s futuristic looks extend to the seats as it gets sofa-like chairs which can fold completely flat. The entire interior has been finished in the same beige hue as the exterior.

The collaboration between Virgil Abloh’s Off-White and Mercedes-Maybach doesn’t end there. The two brands also created a special edition of the Maybach S680, of which only 150 units were ever built.

The Project Maybach will be on display at the NMACC till October 2024. As mentioned, this is the fourth concept vehicle displayed by the brand at the cultural centre in Mumbai. The first was the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept in 2023, followed by the Mercedes-Benz EQG concept and the Mercedes-AMG Vision Gran Turismo in 2024.
