MG Motor India has teased its latest special edition, MG Hector Blackstorm ahead of the launch on April 10, 2024. Like the previous Blackstorm editions on the Astor and Gloster, the upcoming MG Hector Blackstorm Edition will carry similar cosmetic updates to the exterior and interior while retaining the mechanics under the hood. We expect a premium of about ₹ 50,000 over the corresponding trim that it will be based on.

From the glimpses provided by the teased poster, it's apparent that the Hector Blackstorm Edition will be characterised by an all-black exterior, complemented by blacked-out alloy wheels and subtle red accents. Notably, all chrome elements have been swapped out for dark chrome, contributing to the overall sinister vibe. While there are no significant alterations to the body shape or external features compared to the standard Hector, it's the cohesive integration of black and red that distinguishes the Blackstorm Edition.
The interior of the Hector Blackstorm Edition is expected to mirror the exterior, with an all-black colour scheme punctuated by red accents. From upholstery to ambient lighting, the infusion of red elements adds a sporty flair to the cabin.

Furthermore, MG Motor has reassured that the engine options available in the standard Hector will remain unchanged in the Blackstorm Edition. So, the Hector Blackstorm Edition will retain the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with both manual and CVT units along with a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a manual gearbox.
The MG Hector retails between ₹ 13.99- ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and rivals the Kia Seltos X-Line, Hyundai Creta N Line, and the Tata Harrier Dark Edition in India.
