MG India Reports Steady March 2026 Performance; Volumes Rise 19% YoY

JSW MG Motor India reported wholesale sales of 6,528 units in March 2026, registering a 19% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to the same month last year, indicating steady traction across its product portfolio.

The company’s March 2026 performance reflects continued demand across both its internal combustion engine (ICE) and new energy vehicle (NEV) lineup. While exact segment-wise splits were not disclosed, MG’s expanding EV portfolio alongside established ICE models has contributed to consistent volume growth.

On a year-on-year basis, the 19% increase highlights improving market acceptance and a stabilising sales trajectory for the brand. However, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, performance appears relatively steady, with no sharp spike in volumes, suggesting sustained rather than seasonal demand.

FY26 Performance

While full-year FY26 sales figures were not disclosed, MG Motor’s March performance suggests a stable close to the financial year, supported by incremental gains in both ICE and NEV segments. The company has been gradually strengthening its presence in the EV space while continuing to rely on its core SUV lineup for volumes.

In line with rising input costs, JSW MG Motor India has announced a price increase of up to 2% across its standard portfolio, effective April 1, 2026. Additionally, the MG Select range, including premium offerings like the Cyberster and M9, will see a higher price hike of up to 7%.
