“Our collaboration with the Epsilon Group signifies a strategic alliance aimed at realizing this vision through an efficient charging infrastructure which aids and complements a circular economy by way of second-life and end-of-life solutions for batteries,” said Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, MG Motor India.

Power EV offers a diverse array of AC and DC chargers that can accommodate charging speeds from 22 kW to 120 kW from its patent Power Panel Management Software. As part of this new collaboration deal, Power EV will provide custom charging technology to develop the AC and DC chargers for MG’s EVs in India. Coupled with active involvement in the MG Charge initiative, Power EV will employ 1000 charging points in 1000 days in residential communities and apartments across India.

LICO, on the other hand, will look after end-of-life battery recycling. It will recover materials like lithium, cobalt, manganese, and nickel for reuse purposes. It will also assist MG Motor India in its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations and will provide comprehensive battery recycling and certification services. “Through our partnership with MG Motor India, we aim to set new standards for circular economy principles in the automotive sector; by providing comprehensive battery recycling and repurposing solutions to take the lead in this sector,” explained Gaurav Dolwani, CEO, LICO Materials Pvt. Ltd.

MG Motor India has already installed over 15,000 charging touchpoints nationwide, including home and public chargers. Moreover, under its ‘MG Charge’ umbrella, it has also installed 500 charging points in 500 days and aims to install 1000 charging points more, soon.
