MG Motor Sells Over 29,000 Cars In H1, 2023

MG Motor India announced that it has sold over 29,000 vehicles during the first half of 2023 in India. The brand registered 21 per cent growth over the 24,000 units sold during the same period a year earlier. The brand also registered its highest-ever retail sales of 6051 units in March 2023. Globally, MG Motor sold 115,000 vehicles, a 143 per cent year-on-year increase, while MG's NEVs accounted for over 50 per cent of its total sales in the January-June period.

MG's products and services are available in 28 European countries, with more than 830 outlets throughout Europe. Monthly deliveries of MG in Europe have exceeded 20,000 units in a row for four consecutive months. In June 2023, MG Motor India announced that it sold 5125 units, a growth of 13.7 per cent compared to the same period last year. In fact, there is marginal growth on the month-on-month front as well. The company sold 5,006 units in May 2023, and sales in June were up by 2.3 per cent.

Overall, in Q2 of 2023, the company sold 14,682 units, which is a growth of 40 per cent compared to Q2 2022, where it sold 10,519 units. The company stated that supplies were disrupted in the wake of cyclone Biparjoy but with the festive season just around the corner, the company is expecting demand to soar.
