Prices for the Comet, Hector and Gloster have also been revised.
MG Motor India has introduced a new entry-level variant of the ZS EV. The new Executive trim is priced at ₹18.98 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and is ₹3.9 lakh more affordable than the Excite variant which is priced at ₹22.88 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Furthermore, MG has also revised the prices of the Comet, Hector and Gloster. This is to commemorate the brand's centenary.
Not much has been divulged about the ZS EV Excite variant but MG mentioned that it continues to get the same 50.3 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 461 km on a full charge. MG would have definitely removed a bunch of features to achieve this new starting price for the ZS EV.
As mentioned earlier, MG has also revised the prices of the Comet, Hector and Gloster. The Comet EV now starts at ₹6.99 lakh, seeing a drop of ₹99,000. The Hector’s petrol variants now start at ₹14.94 lakh, seeing a marginal price drop of only ₹5,000. However, the diesel variants of the Hector now start at ₹17.50 lakh, down by ₹78,000. Lastly, the Gloster’s prices now start at ₹37.49 lakh, a drop of ₹1.30 lakh compared to earlier. At the moment, it is unclear whether only the starting prices of the models have been revised or if the price drop applies to all variants.
Gaurav Gupta, Managing Director, MG Motor India said, “At MG, we are committed to keeping the customer at the heart of our operations. In continuation with our centenary celebrations, we’re excited to introduce 2024 as the Year of Fast Forward, to ensure a rewarding ownership experience for all. This has been made possible due to increased localisation, long-term freight contracts, streamlined logistics, supply chain improvement, and long-term key commodities cost rationalisation."
