From a 125cc family scooter to a full-blown maxi-scooter, Hero has interesting scooters lined up for Indian riders.
Hero MotoCorp is focusing its attention more on the scooter segment. Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp recently announced that the company is working on a slew of new scooter launches before the festive season. Apart from ICE scooters, Hero is also working on expanding the Vida electric scooter portfolio. According to our sources, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer is developing cheaper variants of the Vida V1 to make it more accessible, a strategy which has been successfully implemented by its rivals. Let’s check out what are the upcoming Hero scooter launches in 2024.
The most immediate scooter launch from Hero MotoCorp will be the Destini 125 Xtec. This new 125 scooter will feature an all-new design language as we have already seen via leaked images. The new styling should help give the Destini 125 a much-needed makeover by making it look more modern and relevant. The new Destini 125 will be positioned as a family scooter from Hero to take on the likes of the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Jupiter 125. You can read more about the Destini 125 Xtec here.
Apart from the Destini 125, Hero will also be launching the Xoom 125R around the festive season. The Xoom 125R will be positioned as a sporty 125cc scooter offering to compete against the TVS Ntorq, Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and the Suzuki Avenis. We have already seen the near-production version of the scooter at CIT in Jaipur earlier this year and the Xoom 125R does look striking with its sporty lines. It’s powered by a 125cc motor delivering .4 bhp and 10.16 Nm. With respect to features, the Hero Xoom 125R sports a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.
The last scooter on the list is the bravest of the lot, a proper maxi-scooter with a bit of soft spot for adventure. The Hero Xoom 160 is the most premium scooter offering to be ever showcased and we are excited for it to hit the Indian roads soon. Powering the Hero maxi-scooter is a 156 cc liquid-cooled engine delivering 14 bhp and 13.7 Nm. As you can see, the Hero Xoom 160 has the numbers to offer an engaging ride. The Yamaha Aerox 155, which is currently the most premium and fastest scooter to be manufactured in our country has had an unchallenged run and this could soon change with the arrival of the Hero’s flagship scooter.
