KTM will also debut its AMT gearbox and a brand new TFT cluster in the coming days.
With the world's most popular motorcycle show event, EICMA 2024, right around the corner, KTM is warming up to the occasion with more than just a couple of launches. Team Orange has already confirmed the dates when it plans to reveal the bikes digitally. From 1390 cc V-twin engines to fully-electric powertrains, KTM will have quite the arsenal to mark an explosive comeback after five years to Milan later next month.
One of the most important launches set to take place on October 8 will be KTM's new automatic manual transmission gearbox. KTM is the latest bikemaker, alongside Yamaha and veteran Honda, to offer a clutchless transmission gearbox. The technology has already been showcased in its prototype stage with the new-gen 1390 Super Adventure. You can read more about it here. Speaking of ADVs, the Super Adventure range will also undergo a generation shift and gain the new big-bore 1,350 cc, V-twin engine from the Super Duke R.
We expect KTM to retain the same monstrous 190 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm tune from the naked bike in the adventure bikes, albeit with a slightly different final drive to suit the latter's character. The new 1390 Super Adventure will be launched in two variants—S EVO and S—KTM confirmed. Previous prototype images have revealed that both rides are on alloy wheels; however, the former is expected to be less off-road-oriented.
Alongside the new 1390 Super Adventure range, KTM will also reveal the more tourer-friendly variant of the Super Duke R, the Super Duke GT. Underlying this new range of 1390 KTMs launches will mark the debut of the Austrian brand's new 8.8-inch TFT instrument cluster, which will have a new and improved UI and sharp, crisper graphics.
On the sidelines, KTM is also slated to launch a new variant of its fully electric, off-road-oriented Freeride bike. The upcoming variant will be called the KTM Freeride E, and silhouette images suggest the same minimal body design. We expect it will slot below the current Freeride E-XC variant, which gets premium XPLOR suspension and is powered by an 18 kW electric motor.
Along with that, KTM will also update its kid electric motocross duo—the SX-E 5 and SX-E 3. However, we're unsure about the kind of updates these bikes are set to gain. More updates will follow soon, starting with the SX-Es and followed by the new Freeride.
