Audi has added a new flagship model to its 2025 Q8 lineup, the RS Q8 Performance. Set as the most powerful production combustion engine in Audi Sport’s history, this model combines high-performance specs and everyday utility. Powered by an upgraded 4.0-litre biturbo V8, the RS Q8 Performance produces 622 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, placing it at the top of the Audi Q8 range. Starting at $136,200 (approx. ₹1.14 crore), the model is available to order now in the USA, with initial deliveries expected by the end of the year.
The RS Q8 Performance’s advanced V8 enables acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 306 kmph. A newly developed exhaust system reduces back pressure, enhancing both power output and exhaust sound, with an optional RS sport exhaust further intensifying this audio experience. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard, with an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission tuned for quicker shifts. The centre differential distributes torque between the front and rear axles in a default 40:60 ratio, adjusting as needed to optimise cornering and traction.
Engineered for both performance and comfort, the RS Q8 Performance comes equipped with RS-tuned adaptive air suspension, which adjusts ride height by up to 90 mm. Electromechanical active roll stabilisation (eAWS) reduces body roll, using compact electric motors to adjust the stabiliser bars dynamically. Standard all-wheel steering contributes to both agility and stability, enhancing handling in high-speed lane changes and improving manoeuvrability in tight spaces.
Standard HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Audi’s laser light technology provide a recognisable blue highlight in the headlight housing and an optional supplemental high beam. The digital daytime running light (DRL) signatures include a unique checkered-flag design, exclusive to the RS Q8 Performance, and OLED taillights offer five customisable DRL and taillight patterns.
For wheels, the RS Q8 Performance introduces 23-inch lightweight alloy options crafted through a high-tech forging process, improving cooling and reducing weight by nearly 5 kg per corner. Standard wheels are 22 inches, but the RS Performance wheels, with Pirelli P Zero 295/35 R23 tyres, provide added grip and precision handling.
The RS Q8 Performance builds on the refreshed design of the 2025 Q8 and SQ8 models. Notable exterior features include a new front apron with large air intakes, a honeycomb grille with a three-dimensional design, and dual oval tailpipes integrated into a wedge-shaped diffuser. Buyers can choose from a new Matte carbon package or Black optic package for further personalisation.
The interior features an optional RS design package plus, with Alcantara-covered steering wheel, Dinamica microfiber accents, and carbon twill inlays. The virtual cockpit’s shift-light indicator and launch control optimise acceleration, while LED lighting projects “RS performance” onto the ground upon entry.
