A new adventure motorcycle could come under the Pulsar moniker
Bajaj Auto was testing a new motorcycle with an adventure-inspired design. It is hinting at a potential new addition to the Pulsar lineup. The Bajaj Pulsar brand has been the mainstay in the Indian motorcycle market for the Chakan-based manufacturer. The new model could target a growing segment of riders seeking an affordable adventure-looking machine.
Based on the spy shots, the motorcycle features a bold design with a sharp front fascia. The aggressive front has a beak, setting the tone for adventure. The muscular fuel tank with prominent shrouds widens the design and gives it character. The split-seat design with a single-piece grab rail hints at a design that goes towards commuter preferences. The underbelly exhaust is not something that makes a practical choice on an adventure motorcycle but still, we see it on the test mule.
While official specifications remain under wraps, we are expecting a 125cc engine to power the upcoming adventure motorcycle. Engine here should be making the same numbers as seen on the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 which are 11.5 bhp and 11 Nm. What could change is the gearing and some drive ratios. It should be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle should position it as an attractive entry point into the adventure motorcycle segment.
Bajaj might be leveraging the Pulsar NS platform for its upcoming adventure motorcycle model, utilising its proven perimeter frame and box-section swingarm. An approach like this would ensure a balance between performance and affordability.
The spy shots also reveal a telescopic front fork with fork boots. There is a monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are likely handled by a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the back. A fully digital instrument cluster is a possibility, keeping features contemporary.
The launch date remains undisclosed, but speculations suggest a late 2025 arrival. With the growing popularity of adventure-style motorcycles, Bajaj's new adventure motorcycle offering could be a game-changer in the entry-level adventure motorcycle segment, particularly for riders seeking a rugged aesthetic with everyday practicality. From the spy shots, we can make out that it wouldn’t be a hardcore off-road motorcycle like the Hero XPulse but more of a mild off-road bike.
