Bajaj Auto is set to introduce the Pulsar P125, expanding its Pulsar portfolio to address the demands of the motorcycle market.
The smallest Pulsar is all set to undergo a major makeover as Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch the Pulsar P125. Much like the rest of its brethren, the new Pulsar P125 will now be updated to the modern Pulsar family.
Bajaj had already tried its luck with the more affordable P series of Pulsars with the P150 but that didn’t quite work out. The 150 cc buyer wanted a bit more tech and hence the P150 was discontinued to make way for the N150. However, we don’t quite think the same issue will arise with the 125 cc buyer. The 125cc Pulsars consistently attract high footfall in showrooms, with a notable 35 per cent contribution to Bajaj's total sales in September 2023.
Recent spy shots show that the Pulsar P125 will share its bodywork with the now-discontinued Pulsar P150. Features such as a single-piece headlight with LED DRLs, tank shrouds, split seats, and a two-piece taillight are expected to be part of the P125's design. It will also have clip-on handlebars, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Bajaj is expected to give this bike a new 125cc BS6 compliant air cooled engine. The older engine on the Pulsar 125 made approximately 11 bhp and 11 Nm torque and was paired with a 5-speed gearbox. This new engine is expected to deliver better fuel efficiency while maintaining the power figures of the old engine.
The Pulsar P125 is expected to be positioned between the OG Pulsar 125 and the Pulsar NS125, with an anticipated price of around ₹ 90,000 (ex-showroom). It is expected to rival the TVS Raider 125, Honda Shine 125 and the Hero Glamour XTEC.
