Alongside new products, KN Radhakrishnan also confirmed that it will be manufacturing batteries in India.

TVS Motor Company’s CEO, KN Radhakrishnan, has confirmed that “Some of our electric vehicle products are in the final stages and will be launched in the coming quarter.” He mentioned the above in a recently held post sales results conference call with company investors. The details of what exactly these new ‘electric’ products will be remains to be seen but expect a blend of electric two- and three-wheelers.

Alongside new products, TVS also plans to make battery cells in India and is already in talks with several companies for the same. Currently, Lucas TVS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TVS Motor, supplies battery packs to the Hosur-based manufacturer for its electric scooter. By localising the key component of any electric vehicle, TVS will also be able to price its upcoming electric vehicle at a more affordable price.

This is no surprise that TVS is banking high on EVs, after all in FY25, sales of the iQube grew by a whopping 54 per cent. And it is the new monthly sales champion, taking over from Bajaj. Till now, TVS has already retailed 2.79 lakh units of the electric scooter, which makes it the leader in the EV race, alongside Bajaj Auto. For the next financial year, i.e. FY26, TVS has also allocated a capex of ₹1,800 crore which is ₹700 crore than what he had reserved for last year. Most of this amount will go into new product development.

Besides EVs, TVS is also venturing into new bike segments. Its debut adventure bike, the Apache RTX 300, has piqued a lot of interest. It has already been spotted being tested on public roads showcasing a very Kawasaki Versys 650-ish design. It will be powered by a brand new 299 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder pot that produces 34 bhp and 28.5 Nm. And TVS also filed the patent application for the Apache RTSX, a supermoto that was shown earlier this year as a concept bike at the 2025 Auto Expo. While the launch timeline of the latter is yet to be confirmed, the adventure bike is expected to launch by this year – and that is one bike we can’t wait to experience.
