But it's not coming to India.
Stellantis has released teasers of the next-generation Jeep Compass, confirming its global debut in Europe this spring between March and June. European production will begin later this year at the Melfi plant in Italy, as confirmed by Stellantis spokesperson Lou Ann Gosselin. However, production at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Canada remains on hold as Stellantis reassesses its North American product strategy.
The new Compass will retain Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille, complemented by slimmer, boxy headlights reminiscent of the Jeep Recon. At the rear, updated LED taillights will follow the SUV’s shoulder contours, adding a modern touch. Built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, the Compass will share its architecture with models such as the Peugeot 3008/5008, Opel Grandland, DS 7, and the upcoming Citroën C5 Aircross. It will be available with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains, with all-wheel drive offered on select trims.
Stellantis claims the new Compass will deliver "affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance, and state-of-the-art technology." The model is expected to feature advanced connectivity and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with an interior that leans into Jeep’s rugged styling, akin to the Jeep Avenger.
While the European launch is set for the latter half of 2025, the North American timeline remains uncertain. Reports suggest Stellantis may delay the electric version’s introduction in the United States and Canada, potentially pushing its release back by up to a year. However, the next-generation Jeep Compass will not be launched in India as the new STLA Medium platform is deemed commercially unviable for the Indian market. Moreover, the company feels that the investment required for the new model does not align with the expected demand, leading to its discontinuation.
