For the first time, the new Dzire will have a starkly different design than the new Swift.
Maruti Suzuki will launch the fourth-generation Dzire in India on November 11. Ahead of that, the subcompact sedan has been spied undisguised for the first time. These spy shots give a clear image of the new Dzire, showing that it will look starkly different from the Swift.
The new Dzire gets wide LED headlamps with a chrome strip that also continues on the grille too. The black grille portion, which houses a large Suzuki logo, is placed above the large lower grille which also has the front number plate mount. This lower portion of the grille is flanked by two small LED fog lamps.
At the back, the new Dzire gets square-ish headlamps connected by a thick bar accented by a chrome strip. This is the first time, the Dzire looks completely different than the Swift on which it is based. The chrome strip on the window line gently sweeps upwards towards the C-Pillar. The Dzire will also have a very different design for the alloy wheels.
While the new Dzire will have roughly the same interior as the new Swift, it will come with a beige and black dual-tone cabin. It will also get the same floating 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, semi-digital instrument cluster and steering wheel as the Swift. Expect the new Dzire to come with features like a 360-degree camera, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among others.
The new Dzire is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 80 bhp and 112 Nm. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Expect the Dzire to also get a CNG later on.
The current Dzire is priced between ₹6.56 - 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and expect the new Dizre to be priced at a slight premium. The new Dzire will continue to rival the Tata Tigor (₹6 - 8.40 lakh), Honda Amaze (₹7.20 - 10 lakh) and Hyundai Aura (₹6.49 - 9.05 lakh).
