Nissan Magnite Recalled For Faulty Door Handle Sensor

Magnite models built between November 2020 and December 2023 are affected by this issue.

Nissan India has issued a recall for its only product in India, the Magnite. The subcompact SUV’s base-spec XE and mid-spec XL variants have been recalled for faulty front door handle sensors. Nissan hasn’t yet specified the number of units affected in this recall. Acko Drive has reached out to the marque for this and the story will be updated Nissan responds.

The recall affects Magnite models built between November 2020 and December 2023. This means all Magnite models produced from January 2024 onwards remain unaffected. Nissan mentions that Magnite’s faulty sensors will not affect the safety and the SUV can be used on a daily basis. 

Nissan said it will notify the owners of the affected Magnite models and inform them about the voluntary recall. The retrofit of the new sensors will be done at Nissan’s authorised service centres free of charge.

The Magnite is available with a 1.0-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre diesel engine, paired with either 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT or CVT gearboxes. The Magnite rivals the likes of the Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Nexon and more.
