Only a few details about the upcoming Oppo F27 5G's camera module and rear panel can be discerned from this teaser.
Oppo has posted on its social media accounts, confirming that the Oppo F27 5G will be launched in India soon. The image shows a bit of the phone’s rear panel design and camera module, though most of the phone is shrouded in darkness. The tagline “dare to flaunt” implies that design will be a major selling point for this phone. While no official launch date has been confirmed, various leaks and rumours point to next week.
The image confirms a contoured rear panel with rounded corners and a raised circular camera module in the upper centre. This island has what appear to be two or three cameras and a flash. This is the same placement and arrangement as on the recently launched Oppo F27 Pro+ though specifications are likely to be quite different for this more affordable model. Closer examination and tweaking colour levels in the teaser image reveals a rear panel without multiple segments, gradients or patterns. However, this might just be one of several options and it isn’t possible to tell what sort of finish or texture Oppo has gone with.
No specifications have been teased yet, but considering that the Oppo F27 5G will slot in below the F27 Pro+, it will likely have a lower-end processor and cameras. The F27 Pro+ is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, a 64-megapixel primary camera with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, an 8-megapixel front camera, 8GB of RAM, and 128 or 256GB of storage. The two storage variants are priced at Rs. 27,999 and Rs. 29,999 respectively.
Interestingly, Oppo has also announced that the F27 Pro+ will receive a software update starting August 22, which will add four AI-enabled features. AI Eraser will let users delete unwanted objects from photos, such as a distracting person in the background. Generative AI will fill in the space to make it look like they were never there. AI Smart Image Matting will enable users to cut a subject out of a photo and turn it into a sticker that can be pasted over other photos or used in conversations.
AI Studio is an image generating app with simple templates to choose from. Finally, AI Link Boost claims to be able to reconnect to a cellular network quickly if a user moves in and out of an area without reception.
