It was last properly showcased at India Bike Week 2022
Orxa Energies is finally gearing up for the launch of its first electric bike, the Mantis, on November 21. The bike has been under development for the past five years, with the company showcasing an improved and updated version of the Mantis at India Bike Week 2022.
Besides the alien-esque styling with its pincer face, Orxa had made quite a bit of change to the bike’s performance capabilities from what was showcased first in 2019 to the one we saw last year. So, peak power went up from 25 kW to 28 kW, with 18 kW of continuous rating. 140 kmph top speed and a sub-8 second 0-100 kmph acceleration time claim remain unchanged. The extra power would just provide better thermal stability and help sustain better performance for longer periods of time.

The 9 kWh battery pack became a fixed unit from a removable one, real world range claimed was 200 km in the city and 150 km on the highway. The charging times via a 15 A socket were five and a half hours which can be reduced to two and a half hours, thanks to fast charging.
The performance on hand is not going to be quite as thrilling as the Ultraviolette F77 but it would be a good middleground between bikes like the Tork Kratos R or Oben Rorr and the F77.
