Details about the Range Rover Electric are still under wraps, but recent spy shots reveal it closely resembles its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart. Initial testing primarily focused on evaluating the battery and Electric Drive Unit (EDU), which includes key components such as the transmission, electric motor, and power electronics.
A standout feature of the electric Range Rover is its new traction control system. This advanced system assigns wheel slip management to each electric drive control unit, slashing torque reaction time from 100 milliseconds to just 1 millisecond. This improvement is expected to significantly enhance traction on challenging surfaces like ice or low-grip terrains.
Although the exact debut date for the Range Rover Electric is still under wraps, Land Rover has hinted at ongoing tests in various climates, including high-temperature conditions in the Middle East. With a launch anticipated in late 2024 or early 2025, excitement for the Range Rover Electric is steadily building.
