Reliance 47th AGM: Jio Brain, Jio AI-Cloud & JioPhonecall AI Unveiled

At Reliance Industries' 47th Annual General Meeting, Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced a series of new technological initiatives for Jio, the company's telecom and digital services arm.

5G Network Expansion

Ambani claims Jio has completed the pan-India rollout of its True 5G network, with over 85% of 5G radio cells in India belonging to Jio. The network now boasts over 130 million 5G customers, achieving the world's fastest 5G adoption rate.

Ambani also highlighted Jio's commitment to bridging the digital divide, announcing plans to welcome over 200 million 2G users to its 4G network. The company's JioBharat initiative offers entry-level 4G phones at prices lower than 2G devices.

JioAirFiber and JioFiber

JioAirFiber, a 5G-based home broadband service, acquired one million customers within six months of its launch. The company is now targeting adding a million homes every 30 days and aims to reach 100 million home broadband customers.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiatives

Ambani unveiled Jio's "AI Everywhere For Everyone" vision to democratise AI access in India. Key announcements include:

1. Development of "Jio Brain," a comprehensive suite of AI tools and platforms.

2. Plans for gigawatt-scale, green energy-powered AI-ready data centres in Jamnagar.

3. Partnerships with global tech companies to bring advanced AI models and solutions to India.

4. A goal to create the world's lowest AI inferencing cost in India.

Smart Home and Entertainment Solutions

Akash Ambani and Kiran Thomas presented several new features for Jio's home and entertainment offerings:

1. Jio TvOS: A home-grown operating system for Jio Set-Top Box, supporting 4K video, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.

2. Enhanced "Hello Jio" voice assistant powered by Generative AI.

3. Jio App Store: A growing ecosystem of apps designed for Jio Home.

4. Jio Home IoT solutions: Integration of smart home devices with Jio TvOS.

5. JioHome app: A unified control centre for home Wi-Fi and smart devices.

6. JioTV+: An integrated platform for live TV, on-demand content, and OTT apps.
