Based on the leaked specs, we can conclude that this upcoming model will be a new entry-level electric bike.
Revolt Motors is gearing up to launch a new electric motorcycle tomorrow. However, details of the upcoming model have already leaked online which reveals more than what the bike will be called.
Starting with its name, the spec sheet reveals that the upcoming model has the nomenclature - Revolt AW1. However, going by Revolt's trend of naming its product, we expect this upcoming model will be called Revolt RV1 – which, when pronounced, sounds "Are We One" – thus matching the company's campaign call for the same.
As for its specs, the upcoming 'Revolt RV1' (let's call it that at the moment) is available with the benefit of two battery pack options. There’s a smaller 2.2 kWh standard battery pack which is good for 100 km of range, and a slightly bigger 3.24 kWh battery pack option as part of the V2 variant which is good for 150 km of range on a single charge. Either way, the electric motor in both the cases is the same 2 kW unit paired to a more conventional chain drive system, instead of a belt drive system. So, from a performance point of view, the RV1 seems to be more focused on being a better urban commuter, and its maintenance costs should be less than the RV400 and the RV400 BRZ.
Its underpinnings have also been updated to keep its cost under check. So, unlike the RV400, which gets an USD fork and mono shock setup, the upcoming Revolt RV1 will feature a conventional telescopic fork and a twin-shock absorber setup. While the frame and side body panels are not expected to receive any changes, they should be similar in appeal, just to keep in line with Revolt Motors' portfolio.
However, the bike's styling has been tweaked a bit. Unlike the Revolt RV400, which has a hexagonal headlamp and narrow tail lamp design, the RV1 will employ a simpler round headlamp with LED lights accompanied by a new visor design at the front, and oval-sized tail lamp at the rear. This should make the upcoming Revolt RV1 look and feel more like a retro bike and at the same time keep matters simple.
Considering these modifications, the upcoming Revolt RV1 is expected to command an ex-showroom price under ₹1 lakh. Or at least cheaper than the Revolt RV400 BRZ, the brand's most affordable offering at ₹1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This should help the Gurugram-based brand position itself quite favourably in the burgeoning electric motorcycle segment, which will see several new entries from other manufacturers like, Ola Electric being the most recent.
