This will be the fifth 650 cc offering from RE.
After the Guerrilla 450, we can now confirm the name of Royal Enfield’s upcoming 650 cc model, which could perhaps also be one of its most important launches of the year. Destined to be called the ‘Classic 650 Twin’, one will be getting the same rich classic charm of the retro-styled motorcycle but now in a larger 650 cc avatar. And since test mules of this bike in camouflage have already been spotted several times before, some of the details are confirmed.
For starters, the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin will maintain the low-hung stance as seen with the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. But it will have slightly more ground clearance, to cater to its roadster credentials. Suspension duties will be taken care of by telescopic fork, instead of the premium Showa-sourced upside-down fork as seen with its cruiser and bobber counterpart. Similarly, the instrumentation console will also be a much simpler analogue unit, to keep its prices under check.

The overall body design of the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin will remind you of the smaller Classic 350. But the larger 650 cc parallel-twin engine and the twin pea-shooter silencer exhaust system will make it look beefier than the 350 cc bike. As for the engine, it is slated to produce the same 46.3 bhp and 52.3 Nm, as is the case with other models in this range.

Aside from that, we expect the ergonomics to be the same – upright, with neutrally-positioned footpegs. It will neither be as relaxed as the Super Meteor 650, nor slightly committed as is the case on the Shotgun 650.
Given that it will most likely slot in as Royal Enfield’s new entry-level 650 cc model, we’re expecting that the Classic 650 Twin will start from ₹3.30 lakh onwards. It will be pricier than the Interceptor 650 but still hold a charm for those who want that bigger Classic in their garage.
