The bobber iteration of the Classic 350 will be the fifth bike to be based on the J-series platform.
At Motoverse 2024, Royal Enfield will launch the Goan Classic 350 on November 23. The brand’s fifth motorcycle will be based on the successful J-series platform. It will break away from its traditional design language, and the new Goan Classic 350 will venture into bobber territory.
Under that iconic yet different design, the bike shares its mechanicals with its J-series siblings, housing the familiar 349 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 20 bhp and 27 Nm of torque.
But the most intriguing aspect of the Goan Classic 350 will be its innovative approach to passenger comfort. Unlike its competitors in the bobber segment - the Jawa 42 Bobber and Perak - Royal Enfield has engineered a clever solution for pillion riders. The design incorporates a hinged frame that connects to the rider's sculpted seat, a system similar to that found on the Shotgun 650.
Several distinctive touches enhance the motorcycle's visual appeal. Most notably, the test mules have been spotted sporting whitewall tyres, a classic styling element rarely seen on modern motorcycles. While wire-spoke wheels appear to be standard, we expect Royal Enfield might also offer alloy wheel options to give customers the benefit of preference. Lastly, the bike will have a mini ape hanger handlebar to give it that Americana feel.
Regarding pricing strategy, the Goan Classic 350 is expected to position itself at the premium end of Royal Enfield's 350 cc range. With the current Classic 350 lineup priced between ₹1.93 lakh and ₹2.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new bobber variant could potentially command a premium of around ₹5000 over the standard Classic.
