Simple Energy has launched two new extended warranty programs for its portfolio of electric scooters, which include Simple Dot One and Simple One. These programs will cover both the battery and electric motor of the scooters. Moreover, it will be available for 8 years or 60,000 km.
The warranty programs are Simple Protect and Simple Super Protect. The first one covers the battery, and the second covers the scooter's electric motor.
For the uninitiated, the Simple One is powered by a 5 kWh battery paired with an 8.5 kW electric motor and is priced at ₹1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Simple Dot One is powered by a 3.7 kWh battery paired with an 8.5 kW electric motor and is priced at ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
This is not the first time an electric two-wheeler manufacturer has offered such extended warranty programs. Earlier this year, Ultraviolette Automotive launched three extended warranty coverage programs: UV Care, UV Care+, and UV Care Max. All three programs offer an impressive 8 lakh kilometres/8 years of warranty on the F77's battery. Ola Electric had also launched a similar extended warranty program, which was available for 8 years or 80,000 km.
Speaking on the launch of this new extended warranty program, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, said, "Our passion for the future of electric mobility has fuelled significant investment in research and development, enabling us to contribute to higher standards of automobile innovation. The extended 8-year motor and battery warranty reflects our commitment to understanding and meeting consumer needs."
