The final avatar of the Simple One has finally been delivered to the public
After facing a lot of trials and troubles with the deliveries of its first electric scooter, Simple Energy has finally launched the One at ₹1.66 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru). Simple is calling it the One Gen 1.5, which it aims to sell from its 10 dealerships across the country. Unlike two years ago where the e-scooter was supposedly delivered to customers, the One Gen 1.5 is being taken home by buyers.
When we had ridden the One last, it was quite a promising sporty e-scooter. And the latest iteration’s specs continue to suggest the same. 0-40 kmph in 2.77 seconds and a top speed of 105 kmph are impressive numbers, certainly better than the Ather 450 Apex. In fact, the One Gen 1.5 is quite a lot more affordable than the 450 Apex.
And Simple turns out to be very convenient as well. 248 km of IDC range should translate to a very respectable 160-170 km of real world range at reasonable riding speeds. There is a 30-litre underseat storage area as well. This should mean that when you do carry the 750W charger with the e-scooter, you wouldn’t have to compromise much to store items.
The One Gen 1.5 is loaded to the gills with features that are pretty synonymous with e-scooters in 2025. A colour-TFT screen, riding modes, map-based navigation, smartphone connectivity and standard tyre pressure monitoring system are all available. There is a dedicated app as well with the One enabled with OTA updates.
We hope to get astride the revised One Gen 1.5 soon and put it through its paces in the real world conditions.
