Skoda did not have any new car launches in 2024 except for the Kylaq, which goes on sale this year

Skoda Auto India has seen a decline in sales of 26.3% in the calendar year of 2024. The company announced that it had sold 36,000 vehicles from January to December 2024 as compared to 48,800 units in the same period in 2023. The company did not have any new launches in the 2024 and there were just updates made to the Kushaq and the Slavia while in 2023 and hence the demand for both the vehicles went down.

Skoda sold 19300 units of the Kushaq, registering a year-on-year decline in sales of 27.4%, while the Slavia had 16,000 units to its name and witnessed a decline of 19.6%. While the decline in sales is likely to be a temporary one as the company has now brought out the Kylaq, which sits in the very competitive subcompact SUV segment.

With the Kylaq, Skoda Auto India, plans to gain lost ground and the aggressive pricing is likely to tilt the balance in its favour though there it is far behind its rivals when it comes to the features on offer, which includes the omission of ADAS.

We wait to see how 2025 pans out for the company as with the Kylaq, it is targeting new export markets and looking to expand its market share as well.
