Škoda Auto has unveiled a teaser video for its upcoming high-performance electric SUV, the Elroq RS, providing a first look at its exterior and interior design. The model, which represents the sportiest iteration of the Elroq lineup, is set to make its world debut on April 3, 2025. The teaser highlights key design elements that align with the brand’s RS portfolio, including a range of blacked-out features and an exclusive RS-specific Mamba Green colour option.
The official teaser clip offers a glimpse of the Elroq RS’s sportier stance, with notable design enhancements over the standard model. The vehicle features a redesigned front bumper with a more aggressive look, alongside an updated rear bumper. Škoda has also blacked out the emblems on the tailgate, reinforcing the RS model’s dynamic appeal. Exclusive alloy wheels, distinct from those of the standard Elroq models, further differentiate the RS variant.
All Elroq models, including the RS, come with Škoda’s new high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face, a modern interpretation of the brand’s traditional grille. The vehicle's sporty aesthetic is expected to be complemented by enhanced aerodynamics and an overall refined body structure.
Inside, the Elroq RS is expected to feature a unique trim and upholstery, with possible updates to the central infotainment system. The teaser hints at front sports seats with integrated headrests, bearing the ‘RS’ logo, along with an RS-branded lower steering wheel section. While it remains unclear whether these seats are newly designed for this model, they contribute to the overall sporty atmosphere of the cabin.
Škoda may introduce exclusive digital enhancements within the infotainment system, including an RS-specific interface and performance-oriented driving modes. Further details regarding the vehicle’s interior technology and features are likely to be revealed at the official unveiling.
Although Škoda has not confirmed powertrain specifics, the RS badge suggests a notable performance upgrade over the existing Elroq variants. The base Elroq 50 is powered by a 166 bhp rear-mounted electric motor, coupled with a 55 kWh battery, achieving 0-100 kmph in 9 seconds and a top speed of 160 kmph. The Elroq 60, with a 198 bhp motor and a 63 kWh battery, trims half a second off the acceleration time, while maintaining the same top speed.
At the top of the standard lineup, the Elroq 85 produces 278 bhp, achieving 0-100 kmph in 6.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180 kmph. A dual-motor Elroq 85x variant is also reportedly in development. Given these performance benchmarks, the Elroq RS is expected to exceed 296 bhp, likely featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup capable of 0-100 kmph in under five seconds.
Further technical specifications and performance details will be disclosed during the global unveiling on April 3, 2025. Following its premiere, the order books for the Škoda Elroq RS are expected to open later this year, with deliveries likely to commence in 2026.
