Skoda Kodiaq, Elroq, Enyaq India Launch Confirmed

Skoda Auto India is planning to launch the Kodiaq SUV, Elroq EV and Enyaq EV by 2026, according to a new report by The Times of India Auto (TOI Auto). Of these, the Kodiaq will arrive in India first, followed by the rest.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, told TOI Auto, “The new model will arrive next year, as planned. We’ll sell the current model until the end of this year, followed by a three to six-month break before the new one is launched.” Skoda unveiled the second-generation Kodiaq late last year and currently sells the facelifted first-generation in India.

Janeba said that Skoda needs to first sort out the logistics of the new Kodiaq before the model is launched in India. It needs to do so as most of the components are manufactured abroad and then assembled in India. The second-generation Kodiaq can only be launched by May or June 2025.

Before Skoda India launches the new Kodiaq in India, it is set to launch its most affordable model yet. The yet-to-be-named subcompact SUV will launch in India by March 2025. Till now, Skoda has shortlisted 10 names for its new SUV which include Kayaq, Kliq, Karmiq, Kaiq, Kosmiq, Kyroq, Kariq, Kwiq, Kymaq, and Kylaq. Expect the finalised name to be announced later this year.

Skoda India has already confirmed that it will launch the Enyaq in India. After the Enyaq, Skoda plans to bring the upcoming Elroq electric SUV to India as well, subject to feasibility. Janeba has now confirmed to TOI Auto that if everything works out, both electric SUVs will be launched in India together in 2026.

The Enyaq made its debut in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. At the announcement of the subcompact SUV earlier this year, Skoda confirmed that it will launch an EV in India but that will only come after the subcompact SUV. It remains to be seen which variant of the Enyaq will be sold in India but the top-spec 85x has the highest likelihood of coming to India. The 85x variant produces 282 bhp and 545 Nm with power going to all four wheels. It has a 77 kWh battery pack with a range of up to 539 km.

The Elroq is yet to make its global debut and it also gets multiple variants. Like the Enyaq, the Elroq is also likely to come in its top-spec 85x variant that will have an all-wheel drive configuration with 295 bhp and an 85 kWh battery pack. Skoda claims the Elroq will have a range of up to 560 km.
