Alongside the new vRS, Skoda is introducing a diesel-powered variant in the SportLine trim.
Skoda has announced the latest evolution of its Octavia vRS, which will be available for order starting August 14, 2024, in the United Kingdom. This sporting flagship of the revised Octavia lineup marks the most powerful production Octavia ever offered by the Czech automaker. Alongside the new vRS, Skoda is introducing a diesel-powered variant in the SportLine trim, expanding its Octavia offerings.
The 2024 Skoda Octavia vRS is powered by an updated 2.0 TSI four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 261 bhp—an increase of 20 bhp over its predecessor. This engine, derived from the EA888 family also used in Škoda’s Fabia RS Rally2 car, offers 370 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the new vRS can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.4 seconds and 6.5 seconds in the Estate version.
In terms of design, the updated Skoda Octavia vRS features restyled front and rear bumpers, a new vRS logo on the radiator grille, and several black exterior accents, including the grille surround, side window trim, door mirrors, and rear bumper diffuser. The estate variant also includes black roof rails. The sporty aesthetic is completed with 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels.
The interior of the vRS is equally sport-focused, featuring a black-dominated vRS Design Selection with a three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel, aluminium pedal covers, and sports seats with contrast red stitching and lumbar support with a massage function. The cabin has advanced technology, including a 13-inch infotainment system, a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit, and an optional head-up display. Passengers benefit from multiple USB-C ports, wireless charging, and a three-zone air conditioning system.
In addition to the vRS, Skoda is expanding its Octavia SportLine range with a new 2.0 TDI 148 bhp diesel variant. The SportLine trim emphasises sporty aesthetics, featuring 18-inch Vega Aero black alloy wheels, metallic paint, and gloss black trim elements on the exterior. The interior is equipped with a SportLine Design Selection, which includes sports seats, a black headlining, and carbon-effect door inserts. Like the vRS, the SportLine variant is available in hatch and estate forms.
