Skoda has showcased revamped interiors that display substantial developments in preparation for the impending world premieres of the new Kodiaq and Superb models. A digital cockpit, a head-up display, and a 13-inch freestanding infotainment screen are some of the improvements. Notably, the gear selector has been relocated to the steering column, increasing the front passenger room, and a spacious centre console provides more storage space. Skoda Smart Dials allow customisable control, with rotating push-buttons facilitating straightforward access to numerous car functions via digital displays, to improve onboard operation.
Skoda's commitment to sustainability is also obvious in the new Kodiaq and Superb models, which feature upholstery made completely of recycled polyester. These models' interiors have been completely redesigned, with upgrades to items such as the steering wheel, dashboard, instrument cluster, and decorative accents. Skoda's first move of the gear selector to the steering column results in a more organised centre console arrangement and greater space for front passengers.
Furthermore, both variants include a head-up display in addition to a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit and a large 13-inch central infotainment display. Skoda Smart Dials, a revolutionary integration of tactile and digital controls, make their debut in both models, further improving the intuitive interface experience.
Skoda Smart Dials, which combine tactile and digital interfaces, add a new degree of control to the brand's automobiles. These three rotary pushbuttons, which are fitted with 32-mm digital displays beneath the infotainment screen, provide quick access to a variety of vehicle functions based on the model's equipment level. The exterior Smart Dials manage interior temperature, seat heating, and seat ventilation, while the central Smart Dial handles features such as infotainment volume, fan speed, air direction, and driving modes.
Skoda's commitment to sustainability is admirable, with eco-friendly interior textiles and distinctive Simply Clever features like the driver's door umbrella and ice scraper. The Design Selections idea has been embraced by the brand, which has replaced typical equipment lines with options such as Loft, Lounge, and ecoSuite, all of which feature textiles made from 100 per cent recycled polyester. Furthermore, the ecoSuite Design Selection's leather upholstery is manufactured utilising environmentally beneficial procedures involving coffee bean waste.
The Essence trim level and Design Selection choices, which include Loft, Lounge, and Suite, as well as the top-tier L&K model, feature leather sustainably tanned utilising wastewater from olive processing in the fourth-generation Superb.
