The Bravia Theatre U is designed for indoor use, and promises high-quality private listening without disturbing others.
Sony India has launched the new Bravia Theatre U HT-AN7, a battery-powered neckband speaker designed for private listening. The company promises high-quality audio for entertainment including gaming, TV and movies, in a compact unit that is easy to wear while relaxing at home. The Bravia Theatre U is also equipped with microphones for two-way voice calls via a connected Bluetooth device. It will be available in India starting September 23, across Sony authorised dealers and popular online marketplaces, priced at ₹24,990.
The unique-looking Bravia Theatre U is designed for immersive audio at high volumes. It has an open-air design, but Sony says it will not disturb other people around the wearer. It supports Dolby Atmos and 360 Spatial Sound enhancement when paired with a compatible source device. Two units can be daisy-chained wirelessly, so two people can enjoy the same movie or show with the volume set to their own preferred level. According to Sony, dialogue is crisp and easily audible.

Weighing 268g, the Bravia Theatre U is claimed to have 12-hour battery life for uninterrupted movies and games. The flexible neck allows the unit to adapt to different body types, and Sony says the speakers will stay in place even if the wearer moves. It is splash-proof with an IPX4 rating, but still designed to be used indoors.
It supports Bluetooth 5.2 with the SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs, and has a USB Type-C port for charging at up to 5W. A wired connection is also possible to reduce latency when gaming. Multipoint connection allows the wearer to watch a movie on a compatible TV and seamlessly answer a phone call on a paired smartphone. A companion smartphone app allows sound to be customised to suit each individual wearer.
