Free replacement offered at dealers

Suzuki has issued a recall for its Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 and V-Strom SX motorcycles due to a potential issue with the engine camshaft. The affected bikes, equipped with the same 249cc single-cylinder engine, might exhibit abnormal wear on the exhaust cam lobe. While the exact number of affected units remains unknown, Suzuki is actively identifying and contacting owners through their dealerships.

Suzuki dealerships will replace the affected camshaft free of charge at their authorized service centers. The company is currently working on swift identification and rectification of the issue.

This marks the second recall for the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250. In 2021, around 199 units were recalled to address excessive engine vibrations.

If you are an owner, contact your nearest Suzuki dealer to determine if your bike is part of the recall and have them verify your vehicle's identification number (VIN) to confirm if it falls within the affected batch. Once confirmed, schedule a service appointment at your dealership to have the camshaft replaced free of charge. Stay informed about the latest developments regarding the recall by checking Suzuki India's official website or social media channels.

Suzuki India has refrained from offering an official stance on the same.
