Suzuki India is recalling more than 5,000 Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 over a faulty rear brake. The recall affects exactly 5,145 bikes and they were built between February 2022 and June 2025.
What's Wrong?
The bikes were mistakenly fitted with rear brake callipers designed for the V-Strom 250 model. This causes the brake pads to make poor contact with the brake disc. If riders continue using their bikes without fixing this fault, the brake pads will wear unevenly. Eventually, this will lead to weaker braking power, which could be dangerous.
The Way Forward
The company is contacting all affected customers directly. Owners will be asked to take their motorcycles to their nearest Suzuki service centre. Technicians will inspect each bike and carry out any necessary repairs at no charge to the customer.
