Switch Mobility will deliver 500 IeV4 cargo pickups to Magenta Mobility over a span of two years.
Switch Mobility has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Magenta Mobility to provide electric cargo pickups, specifically the IeV4 pickup. Switch Mobility will provide 500 IeV4 cargo pickups over a span of two years.
With this partnership, Magenta Mobility claims to enhance last-mile and mid-mile operations using Switch Mobility’s electric commercial vehicles. Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, said, “We are thrilled to join hands with Switch Mobility to accelerate our commitment to decarbonize logistics in India. This collaboration underscores our unwavering dedication to spearheading the transition towards safe, smart, and sustainable mobility solutions. With these eLCVs, we will be able to offer an increased payload capacity to our clients.”
The Switch IeV4 is an electric cargo pickup that packs a 32.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and has a range of up to 120 km on a single charge. Its single electric motor produces 80 bhp and 230 Nm and has a claimed top speed of just 80 kmph. The IeV4 has a payload capacity of 1,700 kg.
The IeV4 supports up to 30 kW DC fast charging which can charge the battery in 75 minutes (claimed). With the standard 3.3 kW AC charger, the IeV4’s battery pack can be charged in a claimed eight hours. The IeV4 has features like reverse parking sensors, hill hold assist, electric power steering, USB ports and a provision to add a music system.
