The Curvv will be offered with electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains.

Tata Motors has revealed the new Curvv, making it one of the two automakers in India that will kickstart the new mass-market coupe SUV segment. This coupe SUV will be offered with electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains. Prices for the Curvv and Curvv.ev will be announced on August 7.

The Curvv is Tata Motors’ first coupe SUV, and was first showcased back in 2022 as the Curvv electric concept. It was again shown at the Auto Expo 2023 with a petrol powertrain and then at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 with a diesel powertrain.

Seen from the front, both iterations of the Curvv coupe SUV follow Tata Motors’ new design language. Both have a full-width LED lightbar. The Curvv ICE has a large blacked-out panel below the grille, while the Curvv.ev gets a charging port instead. Both have a split headlamp setup, like we've seen on other Tata SUVs as well. The design of the lower portion of the front bumper is different as well.

The Curvv gets a sloping roofline, courtesy of its coupe SUV body style, and both versions have flush-fitting door handles. While the ICE model hass a chrome strip below the windows, the EV has a black panel. Both have different designs for their alloy wheels. On the ICE version, the fuel filler cap is on the left. At the back, the Curvv has a full-width light panel with a large Tata Motors logo in the middle. The housing for the reflectors mimics the housing for the headlamps.

Tata Motors is yet to reveal the interior of the Curvv, but expect it to feature a large touchscreen, a touch-based HVAC control panel, and a digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and more.

While powertrain details remain scant, the Curvv.ev is expected to have a range of around 500 km on a full charge. On the other hand, the Curvv ICE will get Tata Motors’ new 1.2-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine as well as a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Manual and automatic gearbox options are also expected.

The Curvv ICE will rival the upcoming Citroën Basalt coupe SUV as well as the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and other compact SUV. The Curvv.ev is expected to go up against the MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3.
