Tata.ev, Tata Motors’s electric passenger vehicle division, has opened two new EV-only showrooms in Kochi. This now brings the tally of Tata.ev stores to four in the country, with the first two opening in Gurugram in December 2023.
One showroom has opened in Edapally, while the other has opened in Kalamassery. The former spans 8800 sq ft and the latter has an area of 6100 sq ft. The Edapally dealership will have enough space to display more than 10 electric vehicles (EVs) from Tata Motors. The Kalamassery showroom can display six EVs. Both showrooms will also have a 60 kW DC fast charger installed for use by existing customers.
Both showrooms will also get a dedicated service centre for EVs in the coming weeks. The service centre in Edapally will have 17 vehicle bays and is said to have the capacity to service more than 800 vehicles per month. On the other hand, the Kalamassery service centre will service around 700 vehicles per month using its 11 service bays.
Like the existing EV-only showrooms in Gurugram, the new dealerships will also have configurator kiosks to check the prices of the brand’s EVs and the features they pack. They will also have an EV Demystifier wall that Tata Motors claims will help reduce range anxiety by helping them plan journeys and showing various charging locations.
Tata Motors currently has five EVs in its portfolio. They include the Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, Nexon.ev and the recently launched Curvv.ev. The brand will add more EVs in its portfolio, like the soon-to-be-launched Harrier.ev and the Sierra.ev.
