Tata Motors unveiled its refreshed Nexon model last year, maintaining the same turbo-petrol and diesel engine choices from its predecessor. At the recent Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, Tata exhibited a CNG variant of the subcompact SUV, suggesting its imminent release. The Nexon CNG is poised to be the pioneer in the Indian automotive market, offering the option of CNG paired with a turbo-petrol engine. It will utilise the familiar 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine found in the standard version, delivering 118 bhp and 170 Nm, albeit with slightly adjusted output figures. For transmission, Tata will provide a 5-speed manual option, with the possibility of an AMT variant similar to the Tiago and Tigor CNG models. Performance and mileage details for the Nexon CNG remain undisclosed.

Regarding trim levels, it's uncertain whether the CNG option will be available in the highest variant. However, if included, it would position the Nexon CNG as the most feature-rich CNG SUV available. The top-spec Nexon CNG is expected to boast a plethora of amenities, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display of the same size, automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and a single-pane sunroof.

Safety features might encompass six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor.
Pricing for the Tata Nexon ranges from Rs 8.15 lakh to Rs 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom), with the CNG variants expected to carry a premium of approximately Rs. 1 lakh over its corresponding petrol-manual counterparts.
