Tata Nexon Facelift: Variants and Price
The Nexon facelift is available in 7 trims. These include the Smart, Smart+, Pure, Creative, Creative+, Fearless and Fearless+ (S) trims. The (S) denotes a single-pane sunroof variant while the ‘+’ refers to the optional add-on packages mentioned earlier. The sunroof also gets voice commands for easier access. The updated Nexon also comes with 6 airbags, ESP and seat belt reminders for people on the rear seats as standard. To get a detailed breakdown of the features offered on each variant, don’t forget to check this article.
Tata Nexon Facelift: Design
The biggest change on the Nexon is in the way it looks. As far as the exterior is concerned, the front fascia has been completely redesigned to make way for a more muscular and modern look in comparison to the outgoing model. Like the Harrier and Safari, the sleek DRLs sit above the headlamps. Overall, it makes for a much cleaner look and should appeal to the masses, just like the original design of the Nexon.
Tata Motors has also made a significant change at the rear. There’s a connected LED tail light, which also doubles as LED DRLs with their own unique pattern, along with a more vertical housing for the reflectors. The lower side of the bumper, which has space for the number plate, also closely resembles the Harrier and Safari. The roof-mounted spoiler has been given a slight tweak as well and now houses the rear wiper.
Tata Nexon Facelift: Interior
One of the most significant changes on the inside has to be the two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo. The dashboard has been redesigned heavily with sleeker AC vents and a touch-based HVAC control panel.
The top-end Nexon gets a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the lower ones still make do with the 7-inch touchscreen from the outgoing model.
Tata Nexon Facelift: Engines and Gearbox
As far as powertrains go, the Nexon carries over the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. It gets a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Tata Motors has also retained the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor which churns out 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. This particular engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT.
Tata Nexon Facelift: vs Rivals
Now that the Tata Nexon facelift has finally arrived on the scene, it will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300.
