Months after the Punch.ev was launched, showcasing the new design for the micro SUV, Tata Motors is now set to give the same design to the Punch ICE. The Tata Punch facelift will be launched in India in the coming weeks, according to sources.
The Punch facelift will follow the same design language as the Punch.ev which itself follows the design language of the Nexon facelift, Nexon.ev facelift as well as the facelifts of the Harrier and Safari.

Don’t expect the Punch facelift to look identical to the Punch.ev, much like the small differences between the Nexon and Nexon.ev. Primarily, the Punch facelift could miss out on the full-width LED light bar present on the Punch.ev. However, it is likely to get the same design for the LED DRLs with a split headlamp setup and a slightly different design for the grille.

In profile, the Punch facelift is likely to get a different set of alloy wheels as the outgoing version but could have the same design as the Punch.ev. At the back, the Punch facelift could get a refreshed bumper.

Inside, the Punch facelift will get a slightly revised dashboard design with new central AC vents, a touch-based panel for the HVAC controls, a new touchscreen as well as Tata Motors’ new steering wheel.

As for the powertrain, the Punch facelift will continue with a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 86 bhp and 115 Nm. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Punch facelift will also get a CNG kit from the factory with Tata Motors’ patented twin-cylinder technology.

The Punch is currently priced between ₹6.13 - 10.20 lakh. Expect the facelift to carry a slight premium. The Punch facelift will continue to rival the Hyundai Exter (₹6.13 - 10.28 lakh) along with the lower variants of the Nissan Magnite (₹6 - 10.91 lakh) and Renault Kiger (₹6 - 11.23 lakh).
