Toyota has revised the prices of its Urban Cruiser Taisor and Rumion models, attributing the increase to rising production costs. The price hike varies across different trims, with some variants witnessing a more substantial increment. As a result, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor now starts at ₹7.74 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-spec variant priced at ₹13.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the base variant of the Toyota Rumion is now available at ₹10.54 lakh (ex-showroom), while the fully loaded version costs ₹13.83 lakh (ex-showroom).

A total of five broad trim levels are available for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: E, S, S+, G, and V. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual (5MT) and 5-speed automatic manual transmission (5AMT) for the E, S, and S+ variants, while the G and V trims offer 5MT and a 6-speed automatic transmission (6AT). With the latest revision, the S AMT and S+ AMT variants have become costlier by ₹5,500, whereas all other variants have received a uniform price increase of ₹500.
The Taisor is a rebadged version of the Maruti Fronx, manufactured by Maruti Suzuki and supplied to Toyota as part of their collaboration. The Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Rumion models employ a similar rebadging strategy.
In comparison, the Maruti Fronx is available at a lower starting price of ₹7.52 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Sigma trim, while the top-end Fronx Turbo Alpha AT is priced at ₹12.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
Under the hood, both the Taisor and Fronx offer a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine producing 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit is also available, generating 99 bhp and 147.6 Nm. The recent price revision does not affect the hardware or equipment list.
The Toyota Taisor and Maruti Fronx compete in the sub-4-meter SUV category, facing rivals such as the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Kia Syros, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. The combined sales of the Taisor and Fronx place them among the best-selling models in this segment.
Toyota has also applied a price hike across all variants of the Rumion MPV. Available in three trims—S, G, and V—the Rumion offers transmission choices of 5MT and 6AT. All variants have seen an increase of ₹10,000.

In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which shares its platform with the Rumion, is available at a starting price of ₹8.84 lakh (ex-showroom), with its top variant costing ₹13.13 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Rumion and Ertiga are powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine delivering 101.5 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. In CNG mode, output figures reduce to 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. The Rumion positions itself as an affordable and fuel-efficient MPV, offering a mileage of 20.51 kmpl with the manual transmission and 20.11 kmpl with the automatic. In CNG mode, efficiency improves further to 26.11 km per kg.
